Carrizozo High earns special recognition

Carrizozo High School has earned a coveted ‘A’ designation following students’ performances on standardized tests recently.

The school grade also includes overall school improvement on the tests, which includes looking at the higher and lower performing students, opportunity to learn, graduation rate, college and career readiness, truancy, promoting extracurricular activities, engaging family and using technology.

Carrizozo was a ‘C’ school in 2014 and 2015, improving to a ‘B’ school in 2016.

Carrizozo Elementary was a ‘B’ school in 2017. They are graded on the same things, except college and career readiness and graduation rate. They were an ‘F’ in 2014, improving to an ‘A’ in 2015, in 2016 they were a ‘B.’
